The Half Moon Inn, Belchamp St Paul, Sudbury

Welcome to The Half Moon Inn, the quintessential historical English Pub, a stunning thatched tavern overlooking Belchamp St Paul village green. Hanging baskets, thatched roof, leaded light windows, low beams and real log fire - it simply doesn't get more English country than this.

Built in the early 16th century, most of the original features of the pub have been lovingly maintained and the pub oozes history. The Half Moon has been at the centre of Belchamp St Paul village activity for more than four hundred years. It continues to be a favourite meeting place for locals, although many of our regulars come from much further afield to enjoy the atmosphere at the pub. New faces are always given a special welcome.

Privately owned by Paul and Angela Acton, the Half Moon fulfils the couple's dream to recreate the traditional Public House - essentially offering friendship, conversation, great food and a wide range of drink to friends and strangers alike.

Real Ale at the Half Moon

For the beer lover, the Half Moon is heaven. The couple are fastidious about their ales and the beer truly is well kept. The Half Moon has been awarded a Cask Marque and features in the Good Beer Guide 2010. Constantly offering ever-changing guest ales to a loyal following, along with its Annual Beer Festival with over 30 guest ales, the Half Moon is renowned for great beer, county wide. All without premium prices.

Tuesday - Sunday 12 noon - 3pm, 7pm - late
Food served Tuesday - Saturday 12 noon - 2pm, 7pm - 9pm
Traditional roast served Sunday 12 noon - 2pm
Open for drinks only Sunday and Monday evenings
Bank Holidays - we open on Bank Holidays serving a full lunch and dinner menu but close for lunch and serve only drinks in the evening on the following Tuesday instead.
